Freddy Pastras-Mayer
Specialty Dept. Director
Freddy is the Specialty Dept. Director of Area 51
and Director of the Specialty Coffees Department at Kafea Terra.
He specializes in locating and purchasing green coffee, quality control, roasting and training.
Freddy is a member of the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) and a certified Q-Arabica Grader.
He is also a member of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA),
an authorized trainer (AST) and SCA Coffee Diploma holder.
He has been certified by the World Competitions Educational Program
under the auspices of World Coffee Events as a national judge (sensory, technical and visual).
Kostas is a Food technologist and Assistant Manager of Area 51,
with extensive experience in some of the first Specialty coffee shops in Greece (Tailor made – Kaya – Harvest – Qahwa).
He specializes in locating and purchasing green coffee,
quality control, roasting and training.
He is a member of Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) and a certified Q-Arabica Grader.
At the same time, he is pursuing his postgraduate degree
in Quality, Technology and Management at the Open University of Cyprus.
Kostas is also a member of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA)
and a SCA Coffee Diploma holder.
He has been praised for his skills in Latte Art.
